Kenilworth

Kenilworth - the village where I accidentally caused a stir in 1965 when I was spotted by some local farmers, one of whom captured me on film just before I turned invisible. It even made the front page of The Kooky Times!

Kenilworth is my number one foodie go-to place in the Mary Valley with so much choice when it comes to quieting the rumbling in your belly.

Surrounded by lush, green countryside that's home to cows, horses, native wildlife, and Journey Monsters, Kenilworth is a picturesque rural village with services and amenities that includes a library, park, pharmacies, vet, supermarket, bottle shop, rural supplies, art gallery, information centre, cafes, and a variety of unique fashion and homewares shops.
What really sets Kenilworth apart is the abundance of foodie destinations crammed within a short walking distance of one another.
The Kenilworth Country Bakery is a must stop for both sweet and savoury tastes with a separate shop dedicated to each. The donuts are divine with so many enticing flavours to choose from. As Instagram worthy as these edible works of art are the one kilogram donut and sausage roll challenges will really get your social media feed buzzing, and they taste absolutely delicious too.
Kenilworth Dairies have you covered for moreish picnic or take-home packs with so many yummy cheeses, yogurts, mousses, and other fab foodie finds to choose from. Let's not forget the ice cream bar and café too. Come and visit the place where they make the famous cheese.
The Big Boss Chocolate Co. is a mouth-watering destination with chocolate everything onsite. Yes, that's right, Kenilworth has it's very own Chocolatier too!
If you are feeling the yearning for some delicious smoked meats and craft beers you'll want to stop by The Kenilworth Hotel which regularly hosts live bands and events, while the refined tastes for Devonshire tea with house made jam, and sandwiches, are perfectly catered to at Nana McGinns. As if all of that wasn't enough to get you promising yourself to do one of the many walks or hikes in the area to burn off some calories there is also a fantastic pizza shop and snack bar.
For a shop full of locally handmade crafts take a detour through the Information Centre where the lovely volunteers will be glad to assist you with local knowledge and regale you with the history of Kenilworth and the Mary Valley. They may even have some tales to tell about me.
Hmm, writing about Kenilworth sure has gotten me hungry.
