Lake Borumba

The best place to line a hidden, homely burrow with gold if I do say so myself.

The lakes day-use area is free to visit and boasts a boat ramp, lookout, BBQ's, picnic tables, and restrooms.

DESCRIPTION:

If you like fun water sports such as boating, fishing, jet-skiing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, water-skiing, sailing, tubing, wakeboarding, and swimming then Lake Borumba should be at the top of your To-Do List.

The lake is stocked with Australian bass, Mary River cod, saratoga, gar fish, and both golden and silver perch. There is also bony bream, red claw, and shrimp.

Sheltered barbecues, picnic tables, restrooms, boat ramp, and lookout all within an easy stroll of the waters edge complete the scene.

The lake is situated on Yabba Creek Road approximately 11-minutes from the village of Imbil where you can conveniently purchase any last minute supplies like petrol, snacks, drinks, fishing permits, and fishing equipment including bait and tackle.

Other than fish there are many animals that call Lake Borumba and surrounds home including koalas, goanna, wallabies, platypus, deer, butterflies, and an abundance of bird life. It is not a well-known fact that while shy platypus have quite the sense of humour, which is a shame as my platypus friends at Lake Borumba really do tell the best jokes.

*Note: A wisecracking platypus friend may not be included in your visit.
